This isn’t two-hour free parking?

A reminder to drivers and pedestrians that there is a layer of ice underneath all of that snow we got New Year’s Eve.

North Bay Police responded to the scene of a collision involving a single vehicle that came to rest on the median dividing Algonquin Avenue and the 200 block of Main Street West just after noon today. A fire crew and paramedics also responded to the collision but left soon after.

There were no injuries as a result of the incident. The driver of the minivan, headed south, braked to avoid traffic stopped at the lights at the intersection of Algonquin Avenue, Main Street West and Oak Street West, driving instead over the curb and coming to rest in a snowbank facing the west side of Main Street.

There was visible damage to the minivan but traffic was not greatly impacted as the vehicle had completely left the roadway.

It was not immediately clear if the driver would face any charges related to the incident. My North Bay Now.com will update as more details become available.
