World-class curling event to be held in North Bay in 2019

North Bay is once again the site of a major curling event.

After successfully hosting the Ford Women’s World Curling Championship last year, the organizing committee of that event was approached to host the Pinty’s Grand Slam Curling, an event that features 15 of the world’s top men’s and women’s curling teams.

It’s expected that among the Canadian competitors, Brad Jacobs will be part of the event as well as Brad Gushue and Kevin Koe.

On the women’s side, Jennifer Jones and Rachael Homan are also expected to attend.

Participating countries include the United States, Switzerland, Japan and China.

The event is scheduled for Memorial Gardens from October 22nd to the 27th.

The Grand Slam is a televised event and with 27 hours dedicated to TV coverage, it’s expected that about two million people will be exposed to North Bay.
