Police say a North Bay man confronted for unlawfully being inside a residence in West Ferris had earlier in the morning attempted another break-in a short distance away.

Yesterday morning, North Bay Police responded to break and enter reports in the 300 block area of Lakeshore Drive and the 300 block area of Wigston Drive in North Bay.

As a result of the investigation, police have arrested and charged a 45-year-old North Bay man with:

  • One count of Attempt Break and Enter
  • One count of Break, Enter and Theft

Police say one of the victims at the Lakeshore Drive residence woke up at approximately 4:30am and found a man trying to break into his residence and scared the culprit away.

Shortly after 5:30am, police responded to a residence on Wigston Drive. The accused was in the residence, attempting to steal property when he was confronted by the owner. The accused left the scene but was apprehended by police a short distance away.

Police say they secured evidence to link the two break-ins.

The accused was later released from custody and will appear in court in North Bay on March 26 to answer to the charges.
