Lottery winner ‘didn’t tell anyone for a week’

Marie Clemence Shank-Lepage of Bonfield is celebrating after winning a $250,000 top prize with INSTANT MONOPOLY™.

“It hasn’t sunk in!” smiled Marie, 69, while picking up a cheque for her “first big win” at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto.

Marie scratched her ticket and was “nervous” after discovering her windfall, “I thought my phone was broken,” she laughed. “I didn’t tell anyone for a week – I just couldn’t believe it myself!”

The married mother of three and grandmother of six plans on paying bills, taking a family trip and building interest for a bigger trip.

“It feels good, but it really hasn’t registered yet,” Marie concluded.

INSTANT MONOPOLY™ is available for $20 a play and the top prize is $250,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.20.

The winning ticket was purchased at Gagnes Red & White Store on Highway 17 in Rutherglen.
