June festival to ‘exude hometown pride’

It sounds like Armed Forces Day will be extended to a weekend affair.

According to Steve Dreany, the Director of Tourism North Bay, his team, along with the North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Improvement Area, and Creative Industries have joined forces.

The group will look to build on the success of Armed Forces Day and give North Bay a three-day community-based, grassroots festival that exudes hometown pride.

Dreany says, “While the initial motivation behind the collaboration was rooted in promoting everything great that is local, the group has listened to the needs and wants of the community and collectively believes this initiative will help flourish the expanding arts culture in North Bay. The talent is not only untapped but is almost limitless.”

“Festivities will take place at the waterfront and in the downtown core from June 13-15 for a weekend of fun memories,” says Dreany. “We ask that any group, organization, or event that might wish to take advantage of the traffic that can be generated by our collective, reach out to us at Tourism North Bay for inclusion in the weekend’s programming and our co-operative marketing efforts. A schedule [is] to be released in the near future.”
