Police say their investigation did not coincide with a man’s claim his female companion had assaulted him prior to their arrival.
Saturday, North Bay Police responded to a residence in the Thibeault Terrace area of North Bay for a domestic disturbance.
The investigation revealed that an argument turned violent when the male threw a bottle at his female companion. Police arrested a 51-year-old man from North Bay and charged him with:
- One count of assault with a weapon
- One count of public mischief
- One count of breach a recognizance
Police say the man initially indicated the female had assaulted him however it was determined that was not the case.
The female received a non-life threatening injury.
The man was later released from custody and will appear in court in North Bay on March 5 to answer to the charges.
