More Trout Lake residents could be cooking with gas

MPP Vic Fedeli and representatives from Enbridge Gas are announcing a $10 million project to expand natural gas services.

Some 130 households in the Northshore Road and Peninsula Road areas of North Bay can benefit from the infrastructure, to be completed in 2020.

“This is an important announcement for the riding,” says Fedeli. “People deserve to have access to affordable natural gas to heat their homes.”

Under the government’s Natural Gas Expansion Support Program, Fedeli says residential customers can switch to natural gas from propane, electrical heat or oil and can save on average between $800 and $2,500 a year.

Minister of Infrastructure Monte McNaughton made similar announcements by proxy in 70 total ridings and adds, “Lowering energy costs will help make life more affordable for people who need it.”

The Ontario Government says the initiative will help to lower heating costs, create jobs, and make businesses more competitive by expanding natural gas service in North Bay.
