On Tuesday, shortly before 4:00pm, an officer with the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police doubled up by stopping two southbound vehicles that had been travelling at more than 170 kilometres per hour in a posted 100 km/h zone, on Highway 11 near Callander.
The officer reports observing aggressive driving between the two vehicles.
The 22-year-old driver of Hamilton, Ontario and 75-year-old Powassan, Ontario driver are both charged with:
- Race a motor vehicle – stunt
Both men’s driver’s licences have been seized and the vehicles towed from the scene and impounded for seven days.
The two drivers were released by way of a summons and are scheduled to appear at court on May 3 in North Bay.
