It will be a hard act to follow after the outstanding job the organizing committee and volunteers did in hosting the 2018 Ford Women’s World Curling Championship.
Tournament Chair Mark Brown says he has no doubt the Pinty’s Grand Slam Curling event to be held at Memorial Gardens and the Granite Club October 22-27 will be a success.
Brown says ticket sales have been “phenomenal,” to date, already surpasssing $100,000 in revenue.
An interesting wrinkle to the event has been presented to organizers. Brown says they will be able to nominate one local men’s and women’s rink to compete in the Grand Slam.
Potential curlers must meet a certain level of ability as far as high-level competitions and Sportsnet has to approve any entries.
