Many areas saw less crime during February of this year compared to the same time last year. There were five sexual assaults this past February, a drop of one from the same time last year. Assaults saw a big drop going from 45 last year to 28 this past February. Another department that saw a big drop was mischiefs which dropped to 14 from 36 the year before. Break, enter and thefts tumbled to seven from 19 while theft under $5,000 went from 71 to 59 year over year. Another drop in the crime report occurred with the number of drug charges laid. Where seven were laid during February 2018, this past February saw only four charges laid.
