NBPS traffic stop uncovers sawed-off shotgun

A traffic stop in the north end of North Bay which uncovered a sawed-off shotgun has led to weapons charges being laid against three men.

The North Bay Police Service reports the traffic stop Friday evening by uniform patrol officers resulted in the seizure of the prohibited weapon plus ammunition concealed within the vehicle.

All three male occupants of the vehicle, a 21-year-old of North Bay and two 22-year-old men, one from Ottawa, the other from Montreal, were arrested and charged with:

  • unsafe storage of a firearm
  • carry a concealed weapon
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition

All three males are being held in custody for a bail hearing.
