Search warrant leads Street Crime Unit to purple fentanyl, cocaine

The North Bay Police Street Crime Unit reports seizing quantities of purple fentanyl and cocaine with a street value of $17,800.

Last Saturday, members of the unit began a drug investigation which has resulted in three people being arrested and charged.

Police say the investigation involved information regarding the possession of a quantity of cocaine. The investigation led to police securing a search warrant for a residence in the 800 block of Algonquin Avenue in North Bay.

On Saturday, the search warrant was executed. Two of the three accused were found in the residence and arrested. The 55-year-old accused from North Bay was arrested yesterday.
Located and seized from the residence as a result of the search warrant was:

  • 60 grams of cocaine
  • 17 grams of purple fentanyl
  • $315 in Canadian currency

The 55-year-old man of North Bay is charged with:

  • One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine
  • One count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

A 30-year-old woman of North Bay is charged with:

  • One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine
  • One count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

A 23-year-old man of North Bay is charged with:

  • One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine
  • One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in fentanyl
  • One count of possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime

Two of the three accused have been released from custody with court dates this spring while the 23-year-old man remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
