Euler named CAO of North Bay City Hall

Interim CAO David Euler is now the permanent Chief Administration Officer of the City of North Bay.

Council made the appointment official last night following an in-camera meeting.

Euler is a professional engineer by trade and joined North Bay City Hall in 2005 as a project engineer for capital works.

It didn’t take long for him to move up the ranks.

Three years after being hired, Euler became Director of Water and Wastewater and two years after that he was named the city’s Director of Engineering.

In 2014 Euler took over as Managing Director of Engineering, Environmental Services and Public Works.

He stayed in this capacity until last December when he took over as the acting CAO on an interim basis.

Following the Tuesday night announcement, councillors spoke well of Euler.

Deputy Mayor Tanya Vrebosch said he has the trust of council and brings a wealth of abilities to the position.

Bill Vrebosch says Euler is a person with integrity and the city has been fortunate to have him on staff.

Over the past decade, Euler has served in various executive positions with Engineers Canada and the Professional Engineers Ontario.

In 2014 he was awarded the Professional Engineers Ontario Companion of the Order of Honour.

Euler’s appointment as CAO takes effect immediately.
