Mining Week arrives in North Bay

Mining Week has once again arrived in North Bay.

From May 13th to the 17th, the city will be flooded with personnel from various mining companies.

North Bay is no stranger to mining.

Although the city has no actual underground mining operations, it does have 67 companies that support the industry in various capacities including supplies and services.

Those companies also help support the local economy with high-paying jobs.

To kick off the annual event on Monday, there’s an event at Canadore College’s Commerce Court site called Mind Blast.

Mind Blast is a trade show that will showcase some of the organizations to the community.

The event runs 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Mining Week is organized by The Canadian Institute for Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.
