It’s a double win for Canadore College at the Skills Ontario Competition.
Two of the school’s four students entered in the annual competition have won medals.
Bringing home the silver was Jay Brocke who is a second-year student in the aircraft maintenance program.
Brocke, who is from Seguin, competed in the aircraft maintenance postsecondary contest.
Also winning was Conor Tierney of Prescott who won bronze in the machining postsecondary competition.
The good news for Tierney, who is a first-year student doesn’t end there.
Afterward, he learned from the competition organizers that he will receive a monetary prize and also that a job offer will be made to him in a few weeks.
The gold, silver and bronze medal winners in all categories at the Skills Ontario Competition go on to the national championships next month.
