City staff in the water and sewer department worked over 380-thousand dollars-worth of overtime in 2014. That number has concerned some city Councillors, and they’ve asked staff to draw up a report on whether scheduling changes could shrink their overtime. This was also a problem in 2013, with the overtime figure totaling 500-grand. Meanwhile, city staff suggested upping the city’s operating budget by 700-thousand dollars in Wednesday’s meeting.
