Canadore College launching three new programs

Three new programs are starting at Canadore College this fall to meet industry demand.

One of the programs is a first of its kind in Ontario with the introduction of a hydrogen technician certificate.

In 2017, the hydrogen and fuel sector employed 2,200 people across the country and generated $207-million in revenue.

The introduction of the program is a response to the ongoing pursuit of clean energy products and solutions.

Hydrogen fuel cell technicians make, test, install and maintain hydrogen fuel cells.

The second of three programs is a meat processing fundamentals certificate.

Currently, there are 1,700 vacancies across the nation in this sector.

Canadore students enrolled in this program will be taught the theory and skills involved with meat cutting and packaging.

Canadore says this program links to the Canada Meat Group facility announced locally last September and is designed to create a ready workforce.

The school’s third new program is the awarding of an instructional design certificate.

This program is for people who want to be instructional designers, educational consultant, training provider or instructional program developer.

This program will be delivered online at www.ontariolearn.com
