TP North Bay rolls past target

North Bay can always spare a square. Or a roll. Thousands of them.

TP North Bay organizer Ellen Faulkner says a late cash donation received Saturday has pushed the cause over 25,000 rolls of toilet paper for 2019.

The charitable initiative encourages citizens to donate rolls of toilet paper at various locations around North Bay. The rolls are then loaded into shipping containers for safe keeping and later distributed to local food banks.

Toiletries and personal hygiene products are often in demand by organizations who help get families and individuals get back on their feet again with more than food on their tables.

Faulkner says the initial goal was 20,000 rolls to be distributed to 12 North Bay food banks but surpassing that with 25,000 rolls collected is due to “the people, the businesses and the volunteers.”
