Are you ready for an action-packed Armed Forces Day?

Armed Forces Day 2019 is all systems go above the North Bay waterfront tomorrow and will feature a daytime and twilight show.
Expect increased noise due to arriving, practicing and departing aircraft. There is a practice flight for the CF-18 Demonstration Team scheduled for tonight at 8:30pm.
Weather permitting, the Armed Forces Day daytime show from 10:30am to 2:00pm will offer air demonstrations by the Snowbirds and the SkyHawks. There will also be various ground displays, army vehicles and equipment and musical entertainment by the 22 Wing Concert Band, the Canadian Military Wives Choirs – North Bay and the North Bay Pipes & Drums. Attendees will be mostly school-aged children.
The evening show on Wednesday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm will offer another opportunity for military members, their families, and community members to take part in the activities. Weather permitting, there will be a twilight performance by the CF-18 Demonstration Team.
Armed Forces Day 2019’s theme “To the Stars…” recognizes the history of leadership in innovation and technology within the military and the North Bay community. It will also pay tribute to the Royal Canadian Air Force’s 95th anniversary, and the 70th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Forces’ role with the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Air demonstrations by Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled to ensure public safety at all times. As safety is paramount, all demonstration teams will always operate within safe guidelines to perform the best show possible.
