Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli says the Wynne Liberals will introduce a carbon tax in the upcoming budget. Fedeli says Premier Kathleen Wynne says it’s all about reducing how much carbon we produce. But he says there’s a better way to do that and that’s restore tree-cutting quotas in the province. He says science proves carbon levels drop when you cut a reasonable amount of trees. It’s because when trees are cut and used to build homes, the carbon stays in the tree. But when it’s allowed to die in the forest, it falls over releasing carbon. Fedeli says increasing carbon taxes plus creating an Ontario Pension Plan will suck billions from Ontario’s economy and these will kill jobs. He suspects the Liberals will apply the extra revenue to reduce the $12.5 billion dollar deficit instead of reducing their spending.
