City council looking at surcharge hike on tickets at Memorial Gardens…

A surcharge on all tickets at Memorial Gardens might be going up. City council is looking at a hike to offset the arena’s operations costs, which are expected to be an additional $430,000 in 2015. That’s because the Gardens’ hasn’t been reaching it’s revenue targets. Currently, the surcharge is 2 dollars and 50 cents, so that the Gardens can repay a 5-million dollar loan from the Battalion hockey team. Meanwhile, around 66-thousand dollars in savings this year is expected through the city’s restructuring of bus routes and scheduling.
