Tensions are mounting at city council as they struggle to reach some common ground on the budget. Last night, councillor Tanya Vrebosch accused some of her colleagues of political posturing after they didn’t support the proposed water and sewer budget. Councillors Mark King, Derek Shogren, Mike Anthony, and George Maroosis voted against the budget moving forward, and filed it for reconsideration at the next council meeting which is in two weeks. Those councillors have voiced their uneasiness in the past with the amount of overtime being worked by city staff. They are projecting 383-thousand dollars in overtime spending this year.
