‘It has been a long journey’ – Cassellholme CEO

Cassellholme East Nipissing District Home for the Aged in North Bay will have its 240 existing beds upgraded to modern design standards and 24 new long-term care beds added. The $55.5 million in capital funding from the province will be accompanied by $12 million in annual operating contributions from the government, said Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli. The redevelopment will include a 16-bed provincial Indigenous unit and two, 12-bed units dedicated for specialized dementia care. The project will go to tender in November, according to Cassellholme CEO Jamie Lowery.
