NFN man faces more charges following major police presence

A Nipissing First Nation man already charged with sexual assault after a major police presence on the reserve is now facing more charges.

After further investigating the case, the OPP has charged the 49-year-old with another count of sexual assault and assault.

The July 10th incident on Little Lakes Road at NFN saw a large response from various OPP departments.

Among the OPP personnel at the scene were a Tactics and Rescue Unit, the Emergency Response Team, the OPP’s Critical Incident Commander, a Crisis Negotiator and the North Bay OPP’s Crime Unit.

In order to keep the victim’s name from becoming public, the OPP says it will not be releasing the name of the accused.
