Only three lots left at North Bay Airport Industrial Park

It’s a unique problem to have.

The City of North Bay is running out of serviced land at the North Bay Airport Industrial Park.

With Canada Meat Group building a meat processing facility at the site, Mayor Al McDonald says that leaves only three lots left for development.

The Mayor adds those lots equal about 25 acres of land.

McDonald says the City has garnered a lot of success since first opening the industrial park in 2013.

“We’ve had a new building constructed each year,” McDonald said.

“We’re starting to get down to the last few serviced lots and now we have to do phase four for the park.”

The industrial park is part of North Bay’s mandate to grow the city.

McDonald says it will be council’s job to focus on the next phase of the industrial park and adds the community will see some kind of commitment from council on this within the next year.

The North Bay Airport and Industrial Park is home to seven projects which involve both new and existing businesses.

McDonald says those seven businesses, which include Voyageur Airways with about 320 employees, account for more than 600 people working at the industrial park.
