Thousands of dollars in jewellery stolen from Pearls

A downtown North Bay business that is closing down after years of service has suffered a major theft.

Pearl’s was broken into during the weekend and those responsible have made off with thousands of dollars in jewelry.

North Bay Police are investigating the case and although police don’t officially identify the business, they say the business is on the 100 block of Main Street West.

Additionally, Pearl’s Facebook page makes a reference to the break and has images of broken glass.

Police say the culprits got into the store by breaking a window just before 6:00am Sunday.

The break-in set off an alarm.

But before police could arrive, the thieves had broken several cabinets and made off with thousands of dollars in jewelry.

The department’s Forensic Identification Unit was on the scene helping with the case.

Although police are hunting for the jewel thieves, they say anyone with information can call them at 497-5555.
