According to the North Bay Police Service, its Street Crime Unit completed an illicit drug investigation resulting in the arrest of two people.
The Street Crime Unit stopped a 2015 BMW in North Bay yesterday as part of that investigation. NBPS reports the investigation resulted in the seizure of:
- Approximately 47 grams of suspected purple fentanyl
- $19,620 in Canadian currency
- Approximately 0.1 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
- A digital scale and packaging materials
- Assorted jewellery valued in excess of $7,000
The street value of the drugs is estimated at $30,550.
The 2015 BMW was seized by police as offence related property.
The two accused were occupants of the vehicle and were arrested.
A 33-year-old male from Garson, Ontario, has been arrested and charged with:
- One Count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
- One Count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
- One Count of Possession of Schedule I Substance
- One Count of Breach of Probation
A 25-year-old female from North Bay has been arrested and charged with:
- One Count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
- One Count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
- One count of Possession of Schedule I Substance
Both accused have been held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
