Street Crime Unit seizes 30K in purple fentanyl, a BMW and cash

According to the North Bay Police Service, its Street Crime Unit completed an illicit drug investigation resulting in the arrest of two people.

The Street Crime Unit stopped a 2015 BMW in North Bay yesterday as part of that investigation. NBPS reports the investigation resulted in the seizure of:

  • Approximately 47 grams of suspected purple fentanyl
  • $19,620 in Canadian currency
  • Approximately 0.1 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine
  • A digital scale and packaging materials
  • Assorted jewellery valued in excess of $7,000

The street value of the drugs is estimated at $30,550.

The 2015 BMW was seized by police as offence related property.

The two accused were occupants of the vehicle and were arrested.

A 33-year-old male from Garson, Ontario, has been arrested and charged with:

  • One Count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One Count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
  • One Count of Possession of Schedule I Substance
  • One Count of Breach of Probation

A 25-year-old female from North Bay has been arrested and charged with:

  • One Count of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • One Count of Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime
  • One count of Possession of Schedule I Substance

Both accused have been held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
