North Bay OPP catch man wanted in theft of gas report from Temagami

A 23-year-old Scarborough man faces charges after gas was reported stolen in Temagami and the accused was arrested in North Bay.

North Bay OPP got the theft of gas report around 10:30am Thursday and was told the individual was headed their way on Highway 11.

About an hour later OPP spotted the vehicle in question on McKeown Avenue.

No sooner had police arrived and they say the man ran away.

The man was spotted a short time later on Cassells Street and ran again but this time police caught him.

The man is charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, flight from a peace officer and three counts of driving while suspended.

The man is also charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 in connection with the vehicle which OPP says was reported stolen from Toronto.
