The driver of a motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious injuries after an incident at the intersection of Highway 17 and Couchie Industrial Road, west of North Bay.
Monday, just before 6:00pm, the North Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police received a report of a motorcycle collision on Highway 17 in Nipissing First Nation.
Police say the investigation revealed the eastbound motorcycle was cut off by a westbound passenger car. The car made a left turn in front of the motorcycle causing the driver to take evasive action and fall.
The driver of the car, a 36-year-old person from North Bay was charged with careless driving.
The highway was closed for a short period of time while officers conducted the investigation.
