Seven more hospitals in the northeast are part of the virtual critical care unit in Sudbury and they include the Mattawa Hospital. This latest addition increases the number of hospitals that are part of the unit to 16. The care unit is housed at Sudbury’s Health Sciences North hospital. The facility is able to share information with smaller hospitals using video-conferencing and electronic medical records. The sharing concept enhances treatment for critically ill patients.
