NDP nomination meeting tonight

The local New Democratic Party riding association is set to choose its candidate for in Nipissing-Timiskaming in the expected October 21st federal election.

It is expected at a meeting tonight Rob Boulet, labour activist and 2SLGBTQ+ community advocate will be officially nominated as the NDP candidate.

“I am excited to work alongside great NDP candidates like Charlie Angus in fighting for a Canada that is diverse and inclusive. I’m running because our riding is deeply affected by inequality and it is time for that to change. Nipissing-Timiskaming needs a candidate who will show up and fight for economic, environmental, and social justice; I am that candidate,” said Boulet.

NDP Timmins – James Bay MP Angus is expected to make an appearance at the meeting, to be held at the co-working space at 176 Lakeshore Drive at 5:00pm.
