North Bay Mayor Al McDonald doesn’t want to see a wind farm by Jack Garland Airport. Innergex Renewable Energy has put in a proposal to have a wind farm on Crown Land in Merrick township, which is within 15-kilometres of North Bay’s airport. The concern is that the wind farm would interfere with the airports equipment, flights paths, and investment opportunities. McDonald will be meeting with Ontario’s Environment Minister tomorrow to try and get the proposal denied.
