Nipissing University and the City of North Bay are inviting the community to attend Homecoming events taking place in North Bay October 4-6.

Homecoming is organized by The Nipissing University Alumni Advisory Board (NUAAB) and Nipissing University, celebrating the university’s alumni and their achievements.

“We are grateful to have such dedicated community members in the City of North Bay who support the university and its students,” said Nipissing University President & Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mike DeGagné. “Our students, employees, and alumni are an integral part of the community and the whole population benefits from our partnership.”

Festivities will kick off on October 4, with transportation for students sponsored by the City of North Bay Economic Development department, from campus and residences to the Artisan’s Way Market, giving students the opportunity to experience downtown North Bay while supporting local artisans and businesses. That same evening, the Nipissing University Alumni Awards will be taking place at The Grande Event Centre, with a wrap-up Alumni Night at The Raven & Republic immediately following.

Open to the public and for all ages, Nipissing University spirit and North Bay pride will be on full display on Saturday, October 5, when the Nipissing Lakers Women’s Varsity Hockey Team will be playing Ryerson University at Memorial Gardens at 7:30pm. Right after the game, there will be a fireworks performance sponsored by the City of North Bay.

“We’re very pleased to be partnering with Nipissing University by supporting an event that will bring the community together with alumni, students, staff and faculty,” said Mayor Al McDonald. “Nipissing University is a part of the lifeblood of our community and our relationship is a source of pride. We encourage everyone to come out to enjoy the hockey game and attend the fireworks display afterwards at Thomson Park.”
