Man arrested after early morning robbery

Early this morning North Bay Police were called to a robbery at a convenience store on Cassells Street.

Police have arrested and charged a 35-year-old North Bay man with:

  • One count of Disguise with Intent
  • One count of Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
  • Two Counts of Robbery

The accused entered the store at around 12:15 am with an edged weapon in hand. The man went up to the cash register and made gestures towards the store employee with the weapon and demanded money.

After, the accused turned to a patron of the store and again made gestures with the weapon and demanded money. A struggle ensued between the accused and patron, and the accused was subdued by the victim until the Police arrived.

Both male victims did not incur any physical injuries as a result of the robberies.

The accused was not injured. Police arrested the accused who remains in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
