Police have provided an update to the fatal collision between a pick-up truck and a train near South River over the weekend.
The two occupants of the truck who struck the train died. The names of the deceased have now been released. They are Cecil Aho, 51 and Bernadette Laing, 52, both of Strong Township.
The incident happened around 10:00Â am Monday on Machar-Strong boundary road.
The Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), South River Machar Fire Department and Sundridge-Strong Volunteer Fire Department originally responded to the call. The investigation was also assisted by OPP Technical Collision Investigators (TCI), Canadian National (CN) Police Service and Parry Sound Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
