Police update Marshall Avenue situation

Early this morning Police closed down a section of Marshall Avenue.

SWAT was involved in getting into a house on the corner of Prince Edward Drive and Marshall. According to police, the house was empty and it was a false alarm.

A police spokesperson at the time said the incident was resolved peacefully.

Later today, Special Constable John Schultz said “This is the type of occurrence we don’t release information on. Traffic was rerouted for a short period of time at Marshall Avenue by Summit to ensure safety. There were no injuries.”

Language like this is often used when there is the possibility of suicide, however, in this case, the house was empty. SWAT is normally used when there is the potential of a weapon involved.
