The North Bay detachment of the OPP reports one person has died as a result of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17 near Corbeil corners yesterday evening.
One vehicle, which was heading eastbound, had four occupants, while the other was heading westbound with two. Four people were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the deceased was a 74-year-old.
OPP closed down the highway for five hours to allow OPP Technical Collision Investigators to investigate the scene.
The investigation continues. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
