North Bay OPP arrested a man for impaired driving over the weekend.
The incident occurred around 4:10 pm on Saturday on Songis Road in Phelps Township when officers were called to a collision. An ensuing investigation led the police to arrest a 34-year-old man from Bonfield.
He was charged with Operation While Impaired – Alcohol and Drugs and Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus. The vehicle was also seized and impounded for seven days, while the driver was issued a 90-day suspension of his driver’s license.
The accused has since been released with a promise to appear at the North Bay Courthouse on November 19.
These charges have pushed North Bay’s total of impaired charges to 53 in 2019. That’s up from 49 the year before.
