Lock it or lose it says North Bay Police

Since November 1, North Bay Police Services say they have received 11 reports involving thefts from vehicles.

November 3 to 9 marks Ontario’s Crime Prevention week and the Police’s message is “lock it or lose it.”

The thefts have taken place in all different areas of the City with victims reporting the loss of spare change, a computer and one person had their wallet stolen.

Police ask that when you get home, or to your destination, to make sure your car, shed, or home are locked. Officers say that theft from a vehicle is usually a crime of opportunity where someone has forgotten to lock the car.

“Working together by talking to our neighbours and friends will promote crime prevention and safety in our community,” says Deputy Chief Daze.

If you have information that may assist police with these theft investigations call the North Bay Police Service at 705-497-5555 and select option 9 to speak to a police officer. For those who wish to remain anonymous, contact Near North Crime Stoppers, by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by submitting a tip online.
