City council wants to ask Chief Paul Cook what it would mean to cut 1 per cent from the police budget. Mike Anthony brought up the idea during a special budget meeting, pointing out that it would be 170-thousand dollars in savings.  Most of city council agreed with him but wanted to know whether this would mean less cops on the streets. The next step is to bring to ask the Chief to come over and present council with saving options.
