North Bay OPP officers have arrested a man after receiving a call on a suspected impaired driver in the town of Mattawa.
OPP located the driver and the vehicle outside of an LCBO and after an investigation, the 33-year-old man from Mattawan Township was arrested and charged with Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand.
The man was released on a promise to appear and he is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay on December 17. He has also been given a 90-day automatic drivers license suspension and his vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
These charges mark 56 drivers charged under Criminal Impaired Driving Laws in the North Bay Detachment area in 2019. In 2018, North Bay OPP charged 49 drivers.
