Troops’ Coe headed to top prospects game

North Bay Battalion forward Brandon Coe is heading to the CHL-NHL Top prospects game in January.

Coe, the third overall pick in the 2017 OHL priority selection, is one of 17 skaters and goaltenders picked to represent the OHL in the game.

This is the 25th annual top prospects game where players who are eligible for the upcoming NHL entry draft will showcase their abilities.

“I’m truly honoured and excited to have been chosen to play in the Top Prospects Game,” said Coe on the Battalion website. “Coming into this season, one of my personal goals was to make the roster for this game, and being selected provides me with some reassurance of my work on and off the ice.”

Coe currently has nine goals, 16 assists for 25 points in 29 games in his third season in North Bay. Coe was recently ranked as a “B” prospect for the upcoming draft, which means he will likely be drafted in the second round.
