By 2018, North Bay city council wants to charge residents a 40 percent fixed rate for water and 60 percent as a variable amount. This year and next the rate is just the opposite of those numbers and in 2017 it moves to a 50-50 split. Council’s goal is to move to the 40 percent fixed rate over the next three years. There’s a public meeting April 7th to discuss the rates which come into effect in July when metered watering kicks in.
