Man arrested after threatening two employees at a convenience store

A man has been arrested by North Bay Police Service after a disturbance at a convenience store on Fisher Street.

Police say the man placed a bag on the check-out counter and made comments to two of the employees, causing both to believe that their safety was at risk over what was in the bag. The accused then left the store.

Officers arrived shortly and cleared the store of employees and customers. With the store empty, police say they discovered there was nothing threatening inside the bag.

The man was located a short time later and was arrested. As a result, the 71 year old from North Bay has been charged with one count of Uttering a Death Threat.

He has since been released from custody and will appear at the North Bay Courthouse on February 11.
