Street Crime Unit seizes 40K worth of drugs in downtown bust

The North Bay Police reports its Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant on a residence that resulted in the arrest of six people and the seizure of illicit drugs and property.

Police say Tuesday, members of the Street Crime Unit were conducting an investigation in the North Bay area and then secured and executed a search on a residence located in the 500 block of Main Street East.

As a result of the warrant police have seized:

  • 99 grams of suspected coloured fentanyl
  • 65 grams of suspected crystal meth
  • 14 grams of suspected cocaine
  • 51 suspected morphine pills
  • Nunchucks
  • $1,500 Canadian currency

The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $40,169.

Police further recovered stolen tools, personal identification and one stolen motor vehicle (a Mazda car).

All six accused face various charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime, and have been held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.

Police say the investigation is continuing.
