The Warriors of Hope are seeking new members when the team hosts its annual general meeting tonight at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph’s Scollard Hall Secondary School.
The AGM is open to the public and features guest speaker Nicky Poulin, who is a certified yoga instructor, teacher trainer and yoga therapy instructor at Ohana Yoga and Wellness Centre. Poulin has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching for over 19. She will be speaking on “The Importance of Self-Love and Building A Community.”
The Warriors of Hope are a team of breast cancer survivors who participate in dragon boat racing as an example of what people can accomplish after breast cancer. With the support of volunteers and associate members, this team of determined and energetic individuals has become a role model for cancer survivors, not only in North Bay but wherever they compete. The team celebrated their 20th anniversary last year and was recently honoured by the North Bay Sports Hall of Fame.
