Callander has officially sworn in its new mayor.
Robb Noon is the new Mayor of the Municipality of Callander following a swearing-in ceremony at last Monday’s council meeting.
Noon has served on Council for 16 years and has been the Deputy Mayor since late Mayor Hector Lavigne’s passing.
“I’m pleased to continue representing Callander’s constituents. Together with Council, I will carry on with the planned projects, enhancements and promotion of our community, while maintaining fiscal responsibility. I believe in a strong family community that everyone can enjoy,” said Mayor Noon.
Mayor Noon was born in Callander and grew up in the community. He has a wife, Sheri, and daughter, Caitlin. Together with his wife, Mayor Noon owns Noon Memorials Ltd, and La Piaza Pizza, located in Callander.
At Monday’s meeting, Council of the Municipality of Callander also declared two Offices of Councillor to be vacant, as a result of the appointment of Robb Noon as Mayor, and the passing of Councillor Maurice Turgeon. The two positions will be filled in the near future.
