Fares dropped among other changes for North Bay Transit during COVID-19

The City of North Bay is tweaking how transit conducts business during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The City says passengers are now asked to enter the bus through the back exit to minimize contact with the drivers. Fares are suspended, effective immediately, because of this new measure.

For those that require use of the accessible ramp, the City says the service will continue to be provided upon request.

In addition to those changes, the transit schedule from Monday to Saturday is being changed. Starting Saturday, buses will now run every hour, with all routes still in operation.

The City of North Bay “remains committed to providing city-wide transit. Transit employees continue to implement enhanced sanitizing procedures and processes. Riders are asked to follow public health recommendations regarding social distancing, safe handwashing and hygiene.”

With the evolving nature of the COVID-19 situation, the City says they are continuing to evaluate all aspects of operations to respond appropriately. Updates can be found on their website, or on social media.
