Financial relief for citizens to be decided at emergency council meeting

North Bay City Council will convene at 2:30 p.m. for an emergency meeting which could lead to financial relief for citizens.

Council members will vote on the implementation of measures aimed at helping residents through the COVID-19 outbreak.

If the proposed measures are approved, senior administration would be granted authority to take action, where necessary, on certain acts during a provincially declared emergency. Such actions may include waiving interest and penalties for billings and adjusting due dates.

This is an Emergency Meeting of Council called by Mayor Al McDonald under Section 9 of the City of North Bay’s Procedural Bylaw 2019-80.

Although this will be a public meeting as required under provincial legislation, residents are asked to view from home through the City’s online stream.
